HAPPY MEN'S DAY!
were the tiny letters written over a postcard, decorated with the help of colorful markers. Laurie was astonished to have received a Postcard turned Greeting card in a No Man’s House. The house spared only two people – Laurie with her 5-year-old son. “Maybe the card belonged to someone else“, the thought throbbed in her head as she approached the greeting-post card. She flipped it and started reading …….
HAPPY MEN’S DAY – to the man of my life.
Hi mamma, u think y brie wish me on men’s day. You think y brie turned foolish. Mamma brie is not foolish.
Mamma everyone says mens men don’t cry, a true man never shows tears. Maybe they cry mamma but they don’t show it. Mamma u are a man, it woud would have been hard for u raising me mamma, u would have gone into hard times but mamma I’ve never seen u cry, or you’ve never shown your tears to me, mamma. When I get hurt and cry, u hug me and will say “It’s gonna be fine brie “, and your tears fall on my back mamma, but when I look up, u will be smiling mamma.
Mamma everyone says men don’t give up. You never gave up on me, and will never give up on me. After u come from work tired, I will be saying my boo boo stories mamma but u never left ur smile down, u hold a smile fully listning listening to my stories . Morning it’s hard for u to get up, but u get up and wish me a good day mamma. You are a man mamma.
Mamma, they also say men don’t show their pain. Every month u lie on the bed holding ur stomach mamma, I know u have pain but when I ask u, u smile and kiss me saying “Mamma is strong like brie”.
I did not see daddy mamma but never cried for it because mamma u are my daddy, u are a man mamma.
Mamma brie knows to write, see, I write well,
BRIE is BIG now mamma.
Love u, mamma.Always.
From your,
BRIE
Tears shed on the postcard which came running from Laurie’s eyes. She didn’t wipe her tears, instead, she smiled. She flipped the postcard and turned towards the sound of the opening door. Brie was standing behind holding a doll in his hand and keeping his head down. Laurie smiled and walked towards Brie. Brie now raised his head up. There was a moment of silence that transferred lots of love that no words could. The silence broke. Laurie smiled, hugged, and kissed Brie. She said “Thank you, sweetheart! ” realizing it is no more a no man’s home.
DO men really don’t cry?
Don’t they really get hurt?
DO men really don’t have pain?
Aren’t they humans?
If that so, is Laurie a man?
Isn’t she a woman?
Maybe the people around said Brie- that’s how men are, or maybe that’s how they truly are- who knows, who cares rather feeling the wonder – how a postcard planted 2 men in a no man’s land!
Your’s manly,
Mr. nothing
